SOCIAL NEWS Afternoon Tea—Miss B. Bayly entertained several of her friends" at an afternoon tea last Tuesday, Mrs. R. P. Giblin, of Wanganui, being the guest of honor. Miss Bayly received her guests in a Baxe blue crepe-de-chine gown, Mrs. Giblin wore white crepe-de-chine. Those present were Mesdames Jas. Perry, Standish, Russell, T. Nicholson, S. Allen, F. Blundell, Beatson, Denny-Brown, Frank Wilson, Sladden, B. Clianey, G. Fraser, Cruickshank and Misses Read, Testas and Blundell. • » • • Mrs. W. J. Chaney was also hostess at an afternoon tea on Tuesday. Mra. C. H. Weston entertained the returned soldiers in hospital at afternoon tea at the Waiwakaiho Golf Links on Wednesday. The boys were taken there in motors and a most enjoyable afternoon was spent in playing cards. V . ■=g
