HIGH SCHOOL OPENING.

T'.ie ball arranged by a citizens' committee, in connection with the official opening of the Boys' High School new .buildings, took place in the assembly hall at the school last night, and was a Ji'T'ant and successful function in e\i\y way. The hall had been well prepared jt'or. the occasion, the polishing of the floor having been carried out by a big squad of boys early in the morning. The attendance last night was estimated at about 250, and the dancing, which was enjoyed to the full by everyone, was kept up till a late hour. The music was supplied by Mrs George's orchestra. Messrs E. L. Humphries, R. W. D. Robertson, and C. H. Wynyard carried out the duties of M.C An excellent supper was served in the school dining hall, which was tastefully arranged and decorated. This was managed by a committee of ladies, under the direction of the Mayoress (Mra C. H. Burgess).
