It was very satisfactory to keep the battalion up to full strength all the time. The New Zealanders, of course, came in for a good deal of fighting during these last months and did magnificently-" Referring to the report of the Royal Commission on Defence Expenditure, the Minister's correspondent says: "Soma of the recommendations were based upon too little knowledge. Yon arc all concerned and indeed" deserve credit for the efficiency of your military organisation, which is a great achievement as the report of the commission so distinctly brings out."
