CRICKET.
Some tig scoring was done in Welling'ton on Saturday in the match North v. iPetone. Batting for North, Hiddlestone and WagstalVe got together and rattled up 307 runs for the fifth wicket—a partnership record for Wellington. Hiddlestone made 240, and Wagstafi'e was unbeaten at the end of the day with 11S to his credit. The final matches for the cricket championship of Christcliureli, won by Sydenham, were marked by some tall scoring. Playing for Sydenham, J. Gray made 112 runs, and for St. Albans D. W. Reese made 82. For Riccarton against Boys' High School C. E. Guiney compiled .124, and E. E. Luttrell and H. B. Whitta 74 each for West against East Christcliureli. D. Reese made 101 (not out) and A. R. Black for East made 81.
