THE AUSTRALIAN LARRIKIN.
ELIMINATED 'BY THE WAR. ■Received March '27, 855 pin London, March 22. • Mr Pearce, in an interview, said the pleasing feature of the ell'ect of compulsory training in Australia had been the abolition of the larrikin, who formerly lounged in the streets addressing rude remarks to women. This unlovely type had disappeared. Instead of spending time unprofitably, Australian youths were turned into men of splendid physique, who had made the Commonwealth's name glorious in the annals of war. —Aim.-X-Z. Caible Assn.
