POSITION OF DISCHARGEE SOLDIERS. By TelegTaph.—Press Association. Dimcdin, Last Night. Regarding tlie votes of discharged soldiers at the 'licensing Mr T. K. Side.v, M P-, sent a telegram to Sir Jas. Allen, asking if it is practicable to take an informal poll of these votes, keeping them separate and, if found that they will affect the result, legalise them when Parliament meets. Sir Jas. Allen replied that the matter had "been investigated from every point of view by the Solicitor General and the Attorney General, and it had been ascertained that such vote? would be illegal. The Minister says he cannot see any good purpose will be served by having the votes
