THE FRENCH MISSION.
BANQUETTED IN LONDON Received March 26, 12,15 a.m. London, March 15. Mr. Fisher, Australian High CoWimsisioner, banquetted General Pau, head of the French mission, at Australia House. Mr. Fisher, proposing the toast of the mission, hoped similar missions from other countries would go to Australia, following the French example. General Birdwood paid a tribute to the French comradeship with Australians at Gallipoli. General Pau, responding, passed a touching eulogy on the Australians who had died for France. They were strong end energetic soldiers, and, like the French, fought for the glory of their country and the liberty of the world. Their graves would create Jinks between Australia and France which would never be broken. Lord Bryce proposed the toast of Prance, and M. Gamboa resnonded.—Aue. ifZ CaM» Amco,
