RETURNING SOLDIERS.
THE MAORI PIONEERS. By Telegraph,— Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. In regard to the arrival of the Maori Pioneer Battalion the Mayor hip received the following telegram from the Minister of Defence: "Advice was received yesterday tbA* the Westmoreland had sailed from Colon on March 15 for Auckland, where she is due on April 5, one week earlier than was anticipated. After fully considering the matter it has been found impracticable to send the Westmoreland to Gisborne, and she willtiiye- * fore definitely make Auckland Mr fort, of call.
