INGLEWOOD.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Inglewood, March 21. The euchre party and dance under the auspices of the Plnnket Society eventuated lasj evening. The attendance was not up to the usual standard, but an enjoyable evening was spent. The ladies' prizes were won by Mrs. T. Wheeler (first) and Mrs. W. Lile (second), and the gents' by Messrs. A. Baker (first) and C. Hamerton (second). Excellent music was supplied by Miss Nellie Henry and Mr. Ray Spurdle, while Miss M. Evans and Mrs. .1. Sutherland provided extras.

Mr. Geo. Young, who has successfully managed the Union bakery business for a number of years, lias purchased the plant and building, and commences operations on his own account on the Ist instant. His Worship will receive the best wishes of a host of people in his new venture. The Moa Dairy Company has been advised that a test of !I3 poiirts has been given by the Government grSler for the last produce. This speaks well for Mr. Ross and his assistants. A big reception to eight returned boys is being tendered by the residents of Tarata this evening. The Knimata School picnic, which was to be held at the East End, New Plymouth, to-day. was postponed, owing to the inclemency of the weather. TENNIS. Representatives from the Eltham Tennis Club met the local players in competition here yesterday, the latter proving victorious. Following are the results, the visitors being mentioned first: .
