THE LICENSING POLL.

RESULTS OF POLLING KNOWN THE SAME NIGHT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The acting-Prime Minister made a further statement to-day regarding the announcement of the results of the licensing poll. He said the Crown law officers had reconsideredthe provision of the Act relative to counting voteß, and they now advised that the number of votes recorded at each polling booth might be publicly announced on the night of the poll. Sir James Allen added that this did not necessarily mean that the result of the poll would be known on the night of the voting. The votes recorded at the booths could be announced, but there would bo other votes recorded by members of the Expeditionary Force to be received later.
