FIRES.
OUTBREAK AT WAIHI. Waihi, Last Night. A serious outbreak of fire occurred in the wiiritr.' room of the Academy theatre cm Saturday night during a picture entertainment. The prompt action by the li'c hriuade superintendent saved an Ugly situation- The outbreak was caused by an exhaust pipe getting overheated and setting fire to the floor. The superintendent, noticing something wrons left the audience and rushed into the engine room, where he discovered the fire had a good hold. The brigade was Boon in attendance and subdued the fire after damage totalling £2OO had been dime.
