Riflemen were kept on the move today, with the result that the three matches completing the belt series were got through, and an extra match for the men who had not won more than liO.s topped off the day's work. The night was crisp with frost, but a warm northejly early in the morning brought a more genial temperature, the sun shining fitfully through passing clouds. The wind all day proved a treat to the marksmen, varying from strong gusts straight down the range to disconcerting puffs from the left rear, with occasional veers right across the right rear.

A notable feature of the meeting is the absence of possible. Two matches at. 800 yards to-day yielded the best possible cards, 49 being scored by Lieut. Williamson in the Nelson match, and the president in the Otago match. Interest centred in these two matches, as this rang® of bOO yards will be used to try out the final fifty in the contest for the King's prize. Forty-six was the next best recorded to-day, then came strings of 45 and 44.

With the completion ot the Canterbury match, at COO yards, it was possible to discover the winner of the Trentliam aggregate, in the person of ox-Champion 11. J. King, of Opaki, 402. He is followed by Young, a Christchurch Club man, P. Morgan being four points away. ' Additional scores in the Treutham aggregate prize list are as follows: P Browne (Waihi), £2, 387; Sergt. To-day's matches complete the competitions for the Colonial Ammunition Company's Cup, which goes to the best aggregate made by a team of five in one match at GOO yards and two at 800. The result has not yet been worked out. The Service Championship was decided this afternoon, and to-morrow morning the firing of the champion teams match will clear the way for the big event, the King's Prize match, ten shots at 800 y-irds, for which the leaders nrc R.
