LONDON MARKETS. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLEGRAMS. The Department of Agriculture, Industries and Commerce, has received the subjoined cablegrams from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London, dated respectively February 22 and March 8. Owing to mutilation in transmission of several words in the cablegram of 'February, this could not be decided earlier for issue:— "February 22, 1919. "Meat, Dairy Produce,—No change in price at present, but reduction will be made in meat and cheese in a week's time. Hemp.—Manila market is quiet but steady; output January I February 8, RO.fIOO bales; New Zealand, small business has been done with shipment to be in February, March, or April. Fair (Trade £SO; small sales have taken place. High point grtidfl £s<! for near at hand hemp. Wheat offers for account of Government continue on small scaler No 1 Northern iSpring. No. 1 HaTd WinterNo. 3 Northern Manitoba .at same rate, 80s. March 8, 1919. "Meat.—Wholesale price reduced Tores, hinds. American, Canadian, 10 5-Bd. In 1 7-M, la 15d; other countries, 10 7-M. Is 2 1-Sd; mutton, Is W.; veal, lOVod: pork, Is 4d. All retail prices reduced 5d per lb from March 3. Hemp-—Government issue prices Ms.niln reduced as from March R: grades .T. K. L. M. £GS, £ft2. £6O. £55. Tt is Government control Manila hemp trade as faT as shipment concerned will be aWlwhed not later than end of March. New Zealand, snot demand" 5p rood, shipment April, .Tune offered €55. Government have cancelled New Zealand hemp maximum price orders."
