MEETING OF CONFERENCE. Christchurch, March 13. At the Poultry Conference the president, in his address, said he regretted tlie unrestricted importation of Asiatic e;gs, a matter which largely aggravated the difficulties under which the industry ■Mas laboring. These importations were a curse to the country and must be slopped. He warned the public that the price of fresh eggs this winter pro-f-tidy would be abnormably high He r fcrred to the work of the association in promoting the egg circle movements, securing additional instructors, the slumping of imported eggs, and the fixing of prices of bran and pollard. The vork before the association in the near future was of a most vital character, one of the problems being the settling of returned soldiers in which the industry must play its part. The keystone to success for the future was the sole right tit the New Zealand market. Australia had_ absolutely closed her markets against importations of egg matter in any form, and New Zealand must be protected from being a dumping ground
