RIFLE SHOOTING.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Treatham, Last Night. The third match of the championship series was completed to-night, and, so far as was ascertainable to-night, P. Morgan (Christchurch) leads for the bolt aggregate, with Halliday (Karori) second. The day was beautifully fine, but a mirage and varying wind across the range from the right caused some fatal errors of judgment. Westland Match, seven shots at 300, 500 and COO yards;.--Captaiu R, Irvine (Nelson), £5, AC; R. J. King (Ojtaki), £4, 96; W. K. Williams (Ohura), £4, 95; W. G. Torr (Cambridge), £3, 94; Lieut. W. Hudson (P. ami T. Engineers), £3, 94; J. G. Comes (Waihi), £3, 94; J, S. Montgomery, £2, 93; H. Loveday (Ohura), £2, 93; A. K. Halmshaw (Christchurch), £2, 93; H. Harris (Christchurch), £2, 93. Thirty-five men took £1 with scores of 93 down to 88. W. N. Masefield was counted out.
The list of fifty men qualified to shoot iu the final of the Service aggregate are led by the following: J. Boyden (Kaiapoi), 180; W. J. Morgan (Akorana), 178; P. Browne (Waihi), 173; W. N. Gordon (Thames), 109; Lieut. W. Duncan (Westport), 160; D. Causeley (Thames), 160; L. Caldwell (Karon), 165; J. Tewhaiti (Greytown), 165. The CI Camp Cup, awarded to the highest aggregate scores in the opening match and in the Westland match, was won by R. J. King (Opaki), 188. The three single range matches tomorrow will sift out fifty men to fight out the King's prize on Saturday.
