WIRELESS EXPEBIj ' MENTS. Received March 1, 9.5 pjn. Sydney, March 13. In connection with the proposal to Bnk Britain and Australia by wireless, the mymging director of the Amalgamated Wireless of Australasia, Ltd., states that during last year a series of experiments to test the proposal on a commercial basis proved highly successful. PEACE CELEBRATIONS. Received March 13, 95 pan. Sydney, March 13. A meeting of prominent citizens outlined a programme for peace celebrations, including thanksgiving services, naval and military parade, a peace pageant in the city, illuminations on warships, searchlights display, Venetian carnival and a regatta.
POBLB3 SERVICE BOARD. Sydney, March 13. Mr J. S. Marks, a prominent banker, nas been appointed chairman of the Public Service Board. AUSTRALIAN NAVY PAY. Melbourne, March 13. In order to secure men for the navy the Government is offering increased rates of sixpence to a shilling per day above the Royal Navy rates and a gratuity of £25 to men re-enlisting.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. FEDERAL ELECTORAL ACT. Melbourne, March 13. The new Federal Electoral Act provides for postal and preferential voting, one roll for both Commonwealth and State and the enfranchisement of all members of the Expeditionary Force.
