FITZROY CHURCH FETE.
The annual fete in connection with the Fitzroy Methodist Church wag held in the public hall yesterday. A number of stalls were erected, and the hall was prettily decorated for the occasion. The preparations have been largely carried out under the direction of the Ladies Guild of the church, and the proceeds of the uale, which were expected to beabout £2O, are to be devoted to the trust funds. The f e ( e was opened bv Mr. P. J. H. White, who congratulated the workers on the excellent arrangement of the stalls, and the display of goods offered for sale, and expressed the hope that though the function had been delayed—through no fault of any of them—it would be a profitable one for the church. JP One of the features of the fete was a display of Oriental hand-made and worked tapestries, etc,, lent for exhibition only By Mrs. H. h. Richards. During the evening the proceedings were enlivened by a programme of music played by Mrs. Moverle/g orchestra. ' Following are the names of the stallholders: Plain and fancy sewing (Ladies Omkl), Mesdamea Bundle, Andrews and Contts; home industries, Mc*damei Richard's.
