THE GALLIPOLI GARRISON.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Wellington, March 10. Some inquiries have been made lately regarding the whereabouts of the New Zealanders who went to Gallipoli for garrison duty after the signing of the armistice. The Ne.w Zealand section of the garrison was withdrawn some weeks ago, a few officers and non-commissioned officers remaining for special duty, connected chiefly with the marking and preservation of graves. The Defence authorities believe that all the New Zealanders are off Gallipoli by this time. The men who formed the Gallipoli garrison went to Egypt, and they will be returned to New Zealand as shipping permits and in the order already announced, that is, the men with the longest service will come home first.
