Germans Wish to Bargain.

Wireless press message: The armistice negotiations at Spa have been broken off.
The German commissioner, acting on toe Government's instructions, demanded that shipping, finance, and food be considered together, also a guarantee of 2,500/X)Q tons of foodstuffs in exchange for the shipping. The Entente representatives were instructed that the shipping be handed Over without guaranteeing to feed Germany until the harvest.
The French commissioners suggested the breaking off of negotiations, as the German instructions prevented an agreement being reached.

NEWSPAPER COMMENT ON GERMAN BARGAINING. Paris, March 8. The newspapers indignantly comment «n the German attempt at bargaining regarding the surrender of shipping. It is suggested that the Weimar Government want to convince the Germans that they are strongly resisting exorbitant demands. The Allies are not likely to make th» slightest concession. It is estiir.a' that it will cost 80 millions {sterling to feed Germany until the next harvest.
