I BRITISH LABOR PARTY. ! OPPOSE ARMY ESTIMATES. London. March 5. The executive of the Labor Party passed a resolution that it viewed with disquietude the Government's policy outlined in Mr Churchill's army estimates. These assumed a European policy of prolonged interference and military responsibility which was a menace to peace and the settlement of Europe. An essential feature of a democratic league of nations was the prohibition of conscription in every shape and form in every nation joining the league. It was also essential to establish a deliberative democratic assembly within the league which would represent the peoples instead of the Governments, and should be elected directly by Parliament. The principle of the open door must be applied to all colonial possessions and protectorates.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assoc.
