CARE OP RETURNED SOLDIERS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, March 8At the Methodist Conference to-day several recommendations from the Tara-naki-Wanganui Synod regarding work amongst returned and returning -soldiers were approved. These recommendations urged that everything possible should be done by church members to give the men a suitable welcome-home; that all allowances be made for the nervouflcondition of many of the men; and that efforts be made to counteract pernicious social influences. It was also urged, in view of the possibility of prohibition and the consequent need of places to meet the social needs of the men, that the church should cater in this direction, wherever possible, by linking up with the Y.M.C.A.
