VISIT OF WORLD'S STAR ARTIST. ANTONIA DOLORES HERE NEXT TUESDAY. That most celebrated of all French sopranos, in fact in the world, Mademoiselle Antonia Dolores, will visit this town on Tuesday next, the 11th inst, and give one concert in Everybody's Theatre. This great artist comes here in the zenith of her wonderful powers and fresh from her triumphs in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. The programme that Mademoiselle Dolores has chosen for this town will assuredly appeal to all sections of the community for they comprise gems of the musical art from the old masters up to an including the modern school—classical and popular. The Melbourne Argus referring to Mademoiselle Dolores' recent appearances there stated: "The distinguished vocalist, as she has done before, completely won her hearers with a charm of style, and a delicacy of vocalisation which is all her own. She was again the arch and artistically artless (if such a paradox be allowed) singer. She was also the humorous singer in a gently confiding way which evoked that finest of all laughter, according to Meredith, the laughter of the mind. And when she was not either artless or humorous, she was pensive, demure, fender, devotional, quietly passionate, or prettily melancholy. She presented, in fact, a gallery of songs (which she will also present in this town) in which there were no rcmbrandtcsquc tones or fierce strenuous moods, but in which there was a remarkably fine and varied display nf things in the quietly beautiful manner." Mademoiselle Dolores is particularly effective in songs of the quasi madrigal type, old English ballads, French chansons, and folk songs of which she has a large repertoire. "In these" also printed tlie Melbourne Argus, ''Mademoiselle Dolores can fairly claim to stand nlono." Pianist is Mr Harold Smith, who is also heard in solos. Seats for the concert here can be booked at Collier's daily, and day sale tickets lor 4s and 2s seats can also be purchased at Collier's now.
THE PEOPLE'S "ALADDIN" PANTOMIME, The beautiful Fox Pantomime "Aladdin," which opened at the People's last night concludes its New Plymouth season to-day and to-night. The matinee to-day commences at 1.45. The Pantomime is a wonderful spectacle Riid the acting is strikingly good. The scenes are probably among the most beautiful ever photographed. No child should he allowed to miss this treat, which offers itself once only in its lifetime. "THE DARING OF DIANA." MONDAY AND TUESDAY. "Diana, the only prescription that will absolutely end your trouble is honeymoon —with me." Anita Stewart now returns to the screen after a year's absence in what is proclaimed her greatest photoplay. There are reporters and rogues, and idle rich men, and social butterflies who all luive something to do with attempted crimes, and attempted love-making—in fact, every species of activity that will be welcomed by a sensation-loving public.
