A combined meeting of the national executive, national organising committee and the Johannesburg district committee of the South African Labor Party approved a movement throughout South Africa for the curtailment of tho hours of labor, and also agreed that any scheme for the reorganisation of employees, owing to the return of soldiers or otherwise, a policy of reduction of hours and expansion of the field of employment, should be adopted in preference to a policy of retrenchment.— Renter.
