STRONG STAND BY GOVERNMENT.
ARREST OF REBELS Copenhagen.. March 6. Troops and police patrolling the Berlin streets had 'minor fights with the Spartacists who seized 20 police stations. The Spartacists have arrested Captain Hartung and Lieutenant Vogelmann who are charged with having caused the deaths of Dr. Liebknecht and Rosa Luxemburg.'. Government troops occupied the offices of the Spartacist newspaper Freiheit Republic. Troops dispersed the crowd in the Alexander Platz. Several were killed and injured. Amsterdam, March 5. Executive power in Berlin has been conferred on Herr Noske, who has issued a proclamation that he will severely punish treason, murder, rebellion, incendiarism. robbery, mutiny, the liberation of prisoners and attempts to induce culdier-i fo revolt. The proclamation also prohibits all meetings except thos« Bar ft ioned. MAKE DEMANDS ON THE GOVERNMENT. Received March 6, 10 p.m. New York, March 4. A United Press message- ;rom Berlin fepurl:- that the revolutionary Radicals present;.! the following demands to the German wovcruinent-: - -Firstly, the trial of the Hoheniollerns, Ludendorff, Hinciui:jurg, and von Tirpitz by the people's tribunal; secondly, the immediate release of political prisoners; thirdly, the disarmament of all volunteer regiments and the- strengthening of the Red Guards; fourthly, the establishment of a political and commercial alliance with the Russian Soviets. The Radicals declared that the country is organised and ready to join the new revolution. The Government answered the demands by demobilising the Republican Guards and regulars—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc.
