NEW TYPE OF AERO ENGINE.
INVENTED BY A NEW ZEALANDER. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Garnet Holmes, a young New Zealand inventor, now in Auckland, is proceeding abroad shortly, at the request of o;/e of the world's largest aeroplane manufacturing concerns, to place on the market a new type of aeroplane engine. It is considered that an aeroplane fitted with this engine would be able to fly from London to New York in 24 hours, consuming only about 150 gallons of petrol, whereas the present engines require COO gallons. Mr. Holmes has had ten years' experience in England, and commenced as motor-ear designer and engineer.
