FIRE BRIGADES.
i ANNUAL CONFERENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Fire Brigades Conference carried a motion in favor of representation on all committees connected with lire prevention and the right to vote on the same. It was resolved to approach the Government for it subsidy from all departments for services rendered in prelection of their properties. Telegrams from the Hon. G'. W Enssell stated that owing to the war it had been impossible to bring down legislation dealing with brigades, but he hoped during the coming session for legislation in the interests of brigades, which were doing such valuable work. Invercargill, Last Night. The executive was instructed to report to the next conference on the advisability of a standard uniform for the Dominion. Gold stars for 25 years' service were presented to ten men.
