Mr "VV- H. Cook, engineer to the New Plymouth Borough, returned from Auckland yesterday. Mrs N. W. Hill, who met with a serious accident ,lwhen motoring into towa last week, is now making splendid progress.
Mr N. T. Sinclair, who was disch»rg«d from camp with the -IGt'h Reinforcements, left last night by the Karawa for Auckland, to talce up his studie* again at the northern university.
Mr \V. R. l.eighton has been advised that his son, Private H. V, l4igttpn» is returning on the Hororata witWie Main Body, due at Wellington on W 13th March.
Mrs Mourant, who for some time W been residing with tho Rev. H. L. and Mrs Richards, Fitzroy, received word on Monday that her husband, Scjrgt- PJ- IMouratit, who has been on active »f----vice for four years, is returning by the Hororata on March 15. <
Tlio Methodist Conference yesterday designated the Kev. 0. H. Lawß, BA, of Auckland, to take up the dutie* of principal of the theological training college in 1920, in succession to the late Rev. 0. H. Garland In the meantime the Rev. G. T. Marshall will be actingprincipal.
Word was received yesterday by the officials of Whiteley Church, that in the first draft of the stationing sheet, tb* Methodist Conference had appointed the Rev J. Napier Milne to succeed the Rev VY. Sinclair as superintendent of the New Plymouth circuit. Mr Milne recently arrived from England, coming to New Zealand, on medical advice, on account of his wife's health. He has held Borne of the more important circuits in the Old Land, including appointment* in London and Glasgow.
