NEW PLYMOUTH SHOW.

OPENS TO-MORROW. EXCELLENT PROSPECT&. The prospects for a successful show at Waiwakaiho this year are particularly bright. Good entries in all classes k. ,j been received, those in the cattle sections exceeding last year's by 49. The Jerseys are a strong lot this time, and the boys' cow-judging competition has drawn over 100 entries. The society is endeavoring to make Thursday afternoon specially attractive. There will be the grand parade of prize stock, the riding and driving competitions for both poiiies and horses. In addition a new feature is to be introduced this year, in the form of a high jump competition. Already a keen interest is being displayed in thia event. Entriea will be received up till noon on the second day of the show, and the event will take place after the steeplechase. The entry fee is 7s 6d, and the first prize will be £3 3s and Messrs. McLeod and Slade's special of £5, and the second prize will be £1 10s. Circus-owned horses will be barred from competing. The Citizens' Band ha 9 been engaged to supply the music on that afternoon. The catering arrangements are in the hands of a capable committee of ladies, who are working enthusiastically, *nd can be relied upon to leaye nothing undone in the matter of meeting the demands in this connection Special train arrangements have been made, particulars of which have been advertised. Yesterday another working bee was ; held on the show grounds, when the erection and numbering of the sheep and pig pens were completed. All arrangements are now well forward, and some exhibitors are busy getting tkuir stands set up.
