LOAN AND MERCANTILE REPORT. Tlw N.Z. Loan "nd Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd.. Stratford branch, report aa follows: At Stratford on February 18 we had a full yarding. Bulls realised £5 12s (id to £ll 10s, store cows £0 2s to £7 18s, forward cows £8 to £9 Bs, in-calf heifers £5 3s to £7 15s, 18-month empty heifers £4 10a to £4 12s, forward bullocks £l3 to £l4, lambs 7s to 12a Id, store wethers 23s 6d. At Te Wera on the 21st we had a full yarding of sheep and a fair yarding of cattle. The bidding for all classes of sheep was spirited throughout, and nearly every pen changed hands at recent values. Nearly all the cattle sold at satisfactory values. 2£-year in-calf heifers realised £8 Is, 18-month empty heifers £4 10s to £4 lis, 18-month bulls £4 2s Od, cull lambs 6s 2d, 6-tooth to f.m. ewes 14s 9d to 255, fresh conditioned ewes 23s 6d to 265, small 2 and 4-tooth wethers 23s (Id, 2-tooth wethers 255, 4-tooth wethers 25s 6d, 2-tooth Romney rams l|gns, 4Jgns, 4|gns, s£gns. At Whangamoinona on the 28th we held a combined sale in conjunction with Mr. Newton King. The sheep consisted chiefly of aged ewes and grown wethers. Nearly everything was placed at values slightly in favour of purchasers. Four and (i-tooth ewes tealised 19s 8d to 225, 4 and 6-tooth wethers 24s 7d to 263 lOd, 2-tooth Romney rams 2gns to 3Jgns, cull woolly lambs 7s to 7s 6d, 4 and 5-year ewes 14s fid to 18s, shorn lmab.4 lis to 12s 6d, 18-month incali heifers £5 Is, 2j-year steers £7 ss.
