It is officially announced that the llororata, with a Main Body draft on board, will make Wellington her first port of call, arriving there about March 15. The contingent is officially known aa returning draft No. 221, and comprises 1503 officers and other ranks. The Ilororata left the United Kingdom on February 1, and it coming via Panama. PRINTERS GRANTED IMPROVED CONDITIONS. Wellington, Feb. 27. After two conferences between representatives of the New Zealand Typographical Federation and the executive of the Newspaper Proprietors' Association and the Master Printers' Federation, a, settlement was arrived at on the men's demands for an alteration of hours and wages under the War Regulations Act, The conference resulted in an increase' of wages and a reduction of hours from 48s to 45 hours per week as from January 1 next. SOLDIERS' UNFAITHFUL WIVES. Wellington, Feb. 27 Mr. Tripp, chairman of the Executive War Relief Association, stated yesterday l that cases were coming under the notice of the executive of soldiers returning from the war to find that, in their absence, their wives had been misbehaving themselves. Mr. Tripp called attention to a paragraph in the report of the Relief Committee stating that quite recently the committee had received several additional requests from soldiers desiring to sever domestic relationship which was no longer possible. It had therefore been suggested to tlio Minister of Justice that the •'.Town should make some provision tend- ■ :.g to enable soldiers to meet the exi>enses of divorce proceedings when it was r.hown that they were in no way to blame. ''lt is very hard on these fellows," said Mr. Tripp, "to find their wives have gone o(T with someone else. We are meeting with quite a number of such cases."
