ARCTIC EXPLORATION.
IMPORTANCE OF STORKERSON'S TRIP. Receved Feb. 27, 8.40 p.m. Vancouver, Feb. 20. Stefansson considers that Storkerson's seven months' Polar trip is of great importance. It disclosed the so-called Iveanan's Land, which is marked on all modern Polar charts as somewhere in the region of 74 degrees north latitude, 140 degrees west longitude, as nonexistent. The trip was also a final demonstration of the soundness of Steffanson's claims that food supplies from outside may be dispensed with in Arctic expeditionary work, as a constant source of food is always available in seal and bear meat. —Reuter.
