REJECTED BY THE RATEPAYERS. The proposal of the Taranaki County Council to raise a loan of £8550 for the construction of reinforced concrete bridges in the Moa Riding, was submitted to a poll of the ratepayers on Wednesday. One hundred of thirty five votes were recorded in favor of and 123 against the proposal. The necessary three-fifths majority was not therefore obtained and the proposal was lost.
