SECOND DIVISION LEAGUE.

The following is an extract from a circular recently sent to Second Division Leagues and S.D.L. members on Repatriation Boards and committees by Mr C. H. Chapman, secretary of the National Executive of the league:— "Enquiries have come from several leagues asHo our future activities. This matter was discussed at a meeting of the' National Executive recently, and the general opinion was that we should not be in too great hurry to disband. From time to time the league is of great assistance to soldiers and their dependents in obtaining pensions and in getting various grievances remedied. In some respects the Pensions Act requires amendment, and it was thought the league might have valuable influence on the work of repatriation. Where our members have been appointed to local Repatriation Boards local leagues must keep together to assist in this matter. "Our work in the past has been very successful, and no doubt the spirit which .actuated the members in their efforts ;for soldiers' dependents will cause them to wholeheartedly throw themselves into the work of repatriation. Repatriation to be successful must have the co-opera-tion of citizens generally. Our Repatriation Board members should report from time to time to their leagues, and the members should be invited to give their representatives any suggestions which may be helpful in this great work. "I would bo pleased to receive any suggestions from leagues or board members which are likely to assist in the important matter of repatriation of our soldiers. It is possible that unless this problem is properly handled a great amount of suffering, due to dislocation of industry and unemployment, t will be caused.

"I would suggest that in districts where leagues have practically; ceased activities that the secretaries and presidents should keep in touch with, members, so that, if necessity arises, meetings can be arranged."
