ST. MARY'S GUILD.
SUCCESSFUL GARDEN PARTY. A very successful garden party and sale* of work was held yesterday afternoon under the auspices of the St Mary's Needlework Guild, in the vicarage grounds, which were kindly placed at the disposal of the guild for the purpose. The afternoon was an ideal on; for such a function, ar.d there was a good gathering of patrons. The stalls, which were arranged under the beautiful trees of fhe vicarage garden, presented an attractive appearance. The ladies of the guild and congregation of St, Mary's had prepared a large assortment of beautifully-worked articles, most of which found ready purchasers. Gifts of produce and home-made preserves, etc, helped to lill up a sia.il which found popular favor, while the temperature during the afternoon specially favored the ice-cream stall. Afternoon tea was dispensed in residence. The proceeds of the effort, which amounted to £—? will be devoted to the Peace Memorial Sunday School Building fund. 'Following are the names of the star, holders:—• 'Plain worfc—Mesdamles J. Wilson, CrawfordFancy work —Mesdames Hammond, Shaw. Mason, and Russell. Art—Misses Croiolke ('2), and Winflcld. Basket and hags—Mesdames Jackson, Ciooke, and Denny-Brown. Produce. Mesdames Wilson and Stocker. Afternoon tea —Mesdames Courtcnav, Mnekav, Misses Bradbury, Webster, Rlundell and Hammond. Ice-cream—Mrs \yalker.
