STEAMERS IDLE AT NEWCASTLE. Sydney, Feb. 20. Five steamers are idle at Newcastle •wing to a strike of the coal trimmers. The men demanded increased rates to trim on the Atua, and, when these were refined, the union struck.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
