DOMINION NEWS.

SEMPLE INDIGNANT. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Greymouth, Feb. 18. The following telegram has been sent to the acting Prime Minister by Mr R. Semple, M.P., regarding the statement by Mr H. G. Ell, M.P. It is reported by the Christchurch Press that Mr Ell, MP., has stated he has forwarded you a newspaper report of my alleged statements, which he characterised as an insult to the soldiers and their mothers. Please note my objection to the report, which is deliberately constructed to misrepresent what I said at my meeting in Christchurch on Saturday, Mr Ell was not present at my meeting and therefore bases his unwarranted charges on a distorted and false report, and on which he seeks to enlist the sympathy of soldiers and their mothers. Such action on the part of a public man is in my opinion unjust and cowardly. INDUSTRIAL CONFERENCE. Cliristchuroh, Feb. 19. The conference of the industrial Corporation of New Zealand was held today- Mr A. VV. Jamieson, president, dealt with labor troubles ■ and the remedy. The scheme of co-operation should be evolved at once that would appeal to sane employers and employees and nip in the bud any irresponsible attempt to introduce the form of Bolshevism into the Dominion. It wal agreed among thinking men that some system of profit-sharing must be introduced to awake tho spirit of responsibility and thought. The following subjects might bo considered by the Industrial Associations: (1) The industrial relationship and the creation of opportunities to bring employers and trade unionists in personal touch. (2) General propaganda regarding industries, emphasising the need of unions and employers' organisations. (3) Housing and social conditions to include the consideration of the effect of health on the output. (4) The prevention of unemployment. (5) The gathering of data in the management of local workshops with the view of making the best ideas the common property of all. (6) The general problems of demobilisation with special reference to unorganised and unsettled labor. ALLEGED RITUALISTIC PRAC'ICES. Wellington, Last Night.
