NAVAL LOSSES IN WAR. OF CHIEF BELLIGERENTS. Received Feb. IS, 5.5 p.m. Paris, Feb. 17. French naval losses during the war were four battleships (namely, Bonnet, Suffren, Gaulois and Usui ton), four armored cruisers, one cruiser, four destroyers, eight torpedo boats, fourteen submarines, sixty-two armed trawlers, five auxiliary cruisers and twelve smaller war craft, representing an aggregate of 100,000 tons. Britain lost 550,000 tons; Germany, 350,000 tons; Italy, 70,000 tons; Austria, 05,000 tons; United States, 17,500 tons.— ; Router. JAPAN'S SHIPBUILDING PROGRAMME. Received Feb. IS, 7.10 p.m. New York, Feb. 14. A copy of the Japanese Advertiser received here states that Japan will build 181 ships in 1919, aggregating 1,189,285 tons.—Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assoc. A REPORT DENIED. Received Feb. 19, 1.40 a.m. London, Feb. 17. The report that the Imperial Government is presenting destroyers to Australia is authoritatively denied. The presentation of the German submarines is contemplated.—United Service.
