BOLSHEVIKS DEFEATED. GENERAL DENEKIN'S ARMY ADVANCING. Received Feb. 18, 7.50 p.m. Constantinople, Feb. 16. The advance of General Denekin's army along the Stavropol-Baku railway seems to have paralysed all opposition. He is expected momentarily to reach Petroush, thus establishing a solid front between the Caspian and Black Seas. Since February 3 ho baa prisoncred 31,000, exclusive of thousands of sick and wounded. His captures include 207 guns. The whole success was due to the Bolshevik army's transport being cut off. The Cossacks cut the enemy's communications between Taskend and Orenburg, and compelled the Ural Cossacks to fall back to Guricr, on the north coast of the. Trustworthy authorities who have arrived from Siberia insist that the executions of the supposed Royalties at Ekaterinburg were really elaborato pieces of stage management. They declare that friendly Bolshevists and orthodox Russians smuggled the Czar away in the guise of a merchant and that ho is now in the Kremlin and tho Czarina and her family iuterned in a monastery at Sergieviky, sixty versts from Moscow. The Bolshevists are spreading a report that Lenin will ultimately transfer the power only to the monarch, recalling the statement published in The Times in August, 1018, in which it was alleged that Lenin told the Cossacks that the Bolsheviks would restore the Czar to the throne after the suppression of bourgeois influence.—Times. BOLSHEVIKS DESERT WINDAU. Received Feb. 18, 8.30 p.m. Berne, Feb. 16. Tho Hamburger Fremdenblatt states that the Bolsheviks have deserted Windau owing to the bombardment by British warships.—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc. ATTITUDE OF THE SOVIETS. Received Feb. 18, 7.50 p.m. Helsingfors, Feb. 10. The Bolshevik leaders continue to quarrel violently with reference to the acceptance of the Prinkipo conference. Lenin, at the last meeting of the Moscow Soviet, openly warned them that the Commission was going to smash unless fresh ethods ere adopted. He said: '•no shall lose nothing by attending the conference."—Times Service. 4! REVOLTING DECREE. ' WOMEN COMMON PROPERTY. London, Feb. IC. An astounding Bolshevist marriage proclamation was posted in East Russia and carried out at Ekaterinburg. It commences: In compliance with the decision of the Kronstadt Soviet, private possession of women is abolished. Social inequalities and legitimate marriages have passed. They have served as instruments by which all the most beautiful women have become the property of the Bonrgeoisc, and the proper continuation of the human race lias been prevented. Accordingly, after March 1, the right to possess women between the ages of 17 and 32 is abolished, and they are proclaimed the property of the whole nation. The decree does not affect women having five children. Former ownerß may retain tho right of using their wives without waiting their turns. If husbands resist this decree they forfeit this right. The distribution and management of women is transferred to tho Anarchist Club. Three days after the decree was published all the women were given to the use of the whole nation and obliged to present themselves at the Club. Any citizen noticing a woman was not submitting herself must give the Anarchist Club her name. The ninth clause of the decree reads: "Men citizens have the right to use one woman not oftener than three times weekly for three hours. Every man wishing to use a piece of public property must have a certificate that he belongs to a working class family. Other male members of the community can obtain equal rights with the proletariat by paying £lO monthly into the public fund. All women proclaimed as national property will receive £23 monthly, and those becoming pregnant will be released from duties for four months. The children are to be educated at. the cost, of the public. In the case of the birth of twins, the mother receives a prize of £2O. : All men and women are obliged to carefully watch their health.
