MOTOR CAR FATALITY. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Auckland, Feb. 17. .Tames Oatanacb, aged 75, a retired farmer, died in the hospital from injui ies caused by the capsizing of a mojLut ear on February 10. THROWN FROM A HORSE. Taumarunul, Last Night. An accident occurred at Matapuna, near Taumarunul, on Sunday. A man, named (Jeorge Scrimshaw, was riding a horse when it stumbled. The rider was thrown over the horse's head, and rendered unconscious. He was taken to the hospital, but did not regain consciousness, and succumbed to his injuries this morning. He leaves a wife and child His wife resides in Wellington. A verdict was returned that deceased met his death as the result of accidentally falling from a horse. manT?oTjnd~dead. Invercargill, Last Night. The police have received word that John Buchanan, aged 70, was found dead outside his hut at Hawe Mat on Saturday evening. No inquest is considered necessary. TRACTION ENGINE DRIVER KILLED. Marton, Last Night. James Andrews, a married man, sixty years of age, engine-driver, of Levin, was accidentally killed on a farm near Bulls on Sunday afternoon. He was driving a traction engine, and when he turned the fly-wheel he fell between the road-wheel and the fly-wheel, smashing his right knee and dislocating his neck. Death was instantaneous. At the inquest this afternoon a verdict »f accidental death was recorded. A BOY DROWNED. Duncdin, Last Night. Peicy Nicholls, 13 years of age, the only son of Jesse Nicholls, of Milton, was drowned this evening. While swimming in a deep pool he got into difficulties, and a companion who went to his assistance narrowly escaped being dragged down by Nicholls, Whose body was recover twenty minutes later.
