ENTERTAINMENTS.

"THE DANDIES,* I . Mr. John Hopkins will present Mr. Edt ward Branscombe's popular body of en--1 tertainers, "The Dandies," in the Empire Theatre for a three-nights season, commencing next Saturday. "The Dandies" ■have proved a strong magnet in attracting large audiences in every place visited on the present tour. "The Dandies" need no recommendation. For several Seasons these well-known companies, for there are several, have been appearing 'before New Zealand audiences, and have [succeeded in placing themselves well in public esteem, a condition due solely to the high standard of their performances. The company to appear locally is said to be the brightest combination yet put forward. They excel in com-pany-work, and although the excellence of their individual merits is admitted, yet the bright ensembles and concerted novelties which occupy a prominent place in each programme have had the effect of establishing a great reputation for the artists. The latest revue successes and the most popular numbers from recent musical comedies form a large part of f'The Dtadies" repjesrtodre, and these are presented with a snap and abandon much appreciated. Popular prices will be charged, mi the plan opens at Colliers' next Thursday morning.
