A feature that was the event of the dav. which evented keen interest was that of Crawley, winner of the Australasian heavyweight ehamrn'onshio, taking the field with his 7 h.p. Harley-Davidson against J. Mercer in a 100 h.p. aeroplane. The course was over five miles, eacli competitor taking a fWina start- Mercer followed the line of the track at a height lof about WO feet.
