BOWLING.
Owing to various causes the banner match, Inglcwood v. Stratford, will not be played this afternoon. Thoso who can resist the temptation of proceeding to Hawcra will hold a practice on the Stratford green. The Stratford Single Championship is now proceeding lu the A division F. Foley has won his games against S. Sharp and J. Masters whilst W. McDonald also defeated Sharp. Writing of the Taranaki Tournament, the Hawera Star says:—The tournament ■was enjoyable, but extra long drawn out. Owing to the weather two-thirds of a day was lost, but allowing for this, when a tournament occupies a whole week and extends into the next, it becomes a question for business men and men in. situations in the country districts whether they can afford to enter. Hitherto play has commenced on Tuesday and usually has been completed by the following Friday. This year it commenced on Monday, and was not over on Saturday.
