THE PEOPLE'S GEORGE WALSH. Smiling George Walsh in his latest hit, "This is the Life L " screens finally tonight at the People's. To-morrow June Caprice, the Sunshine girl, appears in tile i''ox masterpiece, "Alias U.5.A.," which deals graphically with the German spy system of America. It is an intensely patriotic play, interspersed with romance and mystery. The big "Sunshine" comedy, "Son of a Gun," is also on the bill. EVERYBODY'S. ALICE BEADY IN "THE KNIFE." Tha theme of the Selznidk feature, "The Knixe," tho star picture to be I screened at Theatre to- | night, is a most unusual one, and it is said to be treated in a remarkable manntr. It is the first production made by Alice Brady with her own company. It gives fine opportunities for her acting, and it ia claimed that she has never done more convincing work in her screen career. The story is that of a young wealthy girl who has all the superstitiousness of the Southern States, and who, wh:le vioiting her fiance in New York, goes to consult a fortuneteller. The fortune-teller is in reality a wMte slave trader, and the girl gets abducted. Her lover contrives to trace her, and at first is nearly distraught when lie learns what had happened His friends prevent him from killing the two white slavers who are the culprits, and he decides to take a terrible vengeance. The situations provided are very dramatic, and the end of the story is finely contrived.
