THE ARGYLESHIRE'S MEN.
FURTHER TROUBLE. Received Feb. 11, 8 p.m. Sydney, Feb. 11. Thcro was further trouble with the V Argyllsliiro's men to-day, when a thousand were quarantined at the North Head. They demanded release, but this was refused, and the men stormed the first gate of the quarantine area, being met by a strong police forrc. There waa a military guard at the second gate, where, without violence, the men parleyed with the guard for on hour until instructions arrived from the barracks. / Acting thereupon the guard* opened the L gates and the column marched in roili- * tary order under a police patrol to the wharf, where they were conveyed to (Sydney in a special steamer and escort*! to the camp on the cricket ground The men state that they acted without the intention of evading quarantine, and simply owing to the bad arrange ments and accommodation at the NoiihL Head. ~ 'Die Returned Soldiers' Leaguo lias protested to the Federal Government against the landing of troops from other States in Melbourne.—Aus. and N.Z.
