FIRES.
TAIHAPE HOUSE BURNED. By Telegraph.—Pi ess Association. Taihape, Feb. 11. A five-roomed house in Hautapu street, and the whole of the contents, were destroyed by fire at 2 o'clock this morning. When the fire was discovered it had too big a hold to render the efforts of the fire brigade of any value. The house was owned by the K. 15. Batley estate, and insured at Wiinganui in the South British Office. The amount is not available here- The house was occupied by J- Kirkpatrick. The furniture was insured in the British Dominion afflee for £3OO, and the piano for £lO5. The origin of the fire is a mystery. Mr and Mrs Kirkpatrick and their son were away from home.
