Licensed Vehicle Workers' Union, to ,«, which many army motor drivers belong, '? is protesting to the War Office against army motor lorries conveying Londoners * to and from work. The union declared ' its members did not join the army to become strike breakers. The hitch in the tube strike settlement j d is due to the long-standing jealousy of n the Associated Locomotive Engineer! and l< Firemen and the National Union of Saili" ways. The former was the first to offig cially recognise the strike, which mems- bers of both unions began unofficially, >t and thus scored over its rival; but the >r latter ignored the former's settlement : y with the Board of Trade and the strike H continued.
