INFLUENZA EPIDEMIC.
TROOPS BREAK QUARANTINE. FEDERAL BUNGLING. Sydney, Feb. 9. Eleven cases of influenza were reported to-day. A sensation was created in the city to> night by the report that a number of troops from the transport Arglllshiro had broken quarantine, and several arrests have been made. It appears that the mer were against the Federal bungling, ihe landing of twelve hundred at Melbourne instend of coming direct to Sydney, resulting in the necessity for quarantining here. It is also reported that a cacse of influenza developed aboard since leaving Melbourne. SEVERE IN MELBOURNE. Melbourne, Feb. S. Doctors admit that the influenza cases are more severe than formerly. The hemorrhage trouble has increased, causing a, greater number of deaths, whereof there were eighteen on Saturday. There are now 222 cases.
