MONARCHIST SUPPORT. REASON FOR TRIUMPHING. Received 7, 5.5 p.m. Madrid, Feb. 6. The majority of tlie population in northern Portugal favor the restoration of the monarchy. It is stated that the scarcity of arms and munitions is the sole reason why the monarchists have not triumphed.—Times Service. MONARCHISTS DEFEATED. Lisbon, Feb 5. The Monarchist troops were defeated at Covithia.
