(From Our Own" Correspondent.) (All communications, letters, ttc., leu with Mr H. 1. Hopkins, bookseller, will receive prompt attention.) MODEL DAIRY FARM. Stratford, Feb. 7. The monthly meeting of the Stratford Model Dairy Farm Committee was held on the 4th inst., there being present: Messrs J. W. Deem (chairman), J. B. Richards, S. Pitt, R. Dingle, R. Masters, W. H. Were, W. Wickhain. Mr. Richards reported that satisfactory arrangements had been made re covering hay-stacks. Mr. YV. J. Lopdell tendered his resignation, which was accepted. It was resolved that the two bulls bedisposed of, the matter being left in the hands of the stock committee. The cropping report was discussed and adopted. GENERAL. S#atford was very strongly represented at the New Plymouth races yesterday, lot in addition to the crowds that journeyfcd in by motor car approximately 220 made the trip by train from this station. Matters in connection with the forthcoming A. and P. show are well forward and entries are coming in well was the report given by the president at an executive meeting last night, at which there were also present: Messrs W. Pettigrew, H. N. Silk, A. H. Huggett, and T. Waite. It was decided to hold the grand parade at 1.30 p.m. The purchase of some decoration flags was left in the hands of the president and Mr. Pettigrew, The question of calling tenders for the lease of the showgrounds was left to Messrs Jackson, Pettigrew, and Dingle. Mr. P. Beere, Government Stock Inspector, Stratford, is at present confined to his house through illness and will be unable to resume his duties for some days. Mr. if. N. Silk, of Warwick Road, Stratford, has received word from the Defence Minister that his son, Ribcman F. N. Silk, who was transferred to Hornchurch Hospital, England, a month ago, was still dangerously ill from pneumonic inbuenza. T. Lamason advertises a sale of firstclass furniture on behalf of Mr. W. J. Lopdell for Tuesday, February 11. Attention please! Although the holiday season is advanced there is yet ample time to secure that gift or present. Don't go out of Stratford for the article. Call and see C. E. James' stock. Hi 3 shelves, floors and cases are crowded with ladies' handbags, jewellery, Doulton ware, elec-tro-plate, niekle and antimony articles fit to grace any home.
