BANK NOTES PILLAGED.

ALREADY IN CIRCULATION. Wellington, Last Night A box containing new banknotes, which came out in the Rualiine lor the National Bank of New Zealand, was pillaged and the notes have already got into circulation and been accepted by the banks. There are ono thousand notes, all of £l, missing- The numbers of the notes, wo from 599801 to <IO,OOO inclusive. They were perfectly new when stolen and had no signatures, but the stolen notes all bear false signatures, "dirtied" and ermpuled up to take the newness off before being put on to the public.
